As of July 2022, Aqeel T. Ash-Shakoor became the Precinct Commander for Law & order: SVU Season 24, with his first appearance in episode 2 "the One You Feed." In December 2022, Aqeel became a recurring character as the Precinct Commander. The new episode S24 Ep 13 "Intersection" will air February 9, 2023.

Between episodes of the Dick Wolf universe Production, Aqeel played Geoff, a MTA Mechanic, on another of Dick Wolf's series shows, "FBI." Aqeel appeared in S5 Ep 12 "Breakdown."
